The Modern Industrial
I had the best time designing this home from the ground up. This was the Hearth Homes parade of Homes for 2019. My vision was modern industrial, with natural textiles through out. The black cabinetry with the light oak floors was the perfect balance of light and dark. The contrast of the two really catches your eye. I also wanted to do a concrete fireplace. Once I found the right artist to make it happen, Bob Cross, I fell in love with how it turned out. The texture it adds to the space is also a perfect clean look. A lot of the fixtures were from Kendall Lighting, but I found several on Wayfair and Amazon. The cabinetry was done by Kitchens Etc. Melissa really caught my vision from the start and made it happen. My favorite cabinetry is the master vanity and also the custom floating shelf in the powder room (photo coming soon).
I decided to do a herringbone pattern for the backsplash. The tile color is on the grey side and the texture on the material gives it a concrete look, with the concrete pendants in the kitchen, it balances the look through out the living space.
I did black windows with very dark siding and cedar wood details. Which I need to photograph now that they are done. The red brick gives it that urban industrial vibe I was hoping for. That and the modern garage doors and the exterior of this home suddenly looks more fresh and modern.
Hope you enjoy this sneak peek. I worked for many many months to bring this home together. Watching the process and it slowly coming to life was very rewarding for me.
